  2. Customer feedback surveys are big business. But before you switch off, there is no reason why retailers of all sizes cannot benefit from them — on and off line, even little mom and pop stores. The problem for a small business owner is where to start? How can you be sure you are talking to the right people and delivering a good survey experience?

The people who take part in feedback surveys believe that the companies they are responding to genuinely care about their customers; this is likely a contributing factor as to why they answer a survey in the first place. If constructed well, these surveys not only provide retailers with key data on how to improve the customer purchase experience, but also create the perception of a brand that truly cares about their customers.

  3. As we enter the new year, it is natural to predict what new trends, technologies, and advancements will be at the forefront of industries in the months ahead. Customer experience is no different. In 2018, we saw the impact major brands faced when they broke the trust of their customers. From criticisms of lack of transparency, data breaches, or high profile poor treatment of passengers going viral on social channels, organizations recognize more than ever the importance of investing in earning and maintaining the trust of their customers. Earning that trust means demonstrating that you’re actually listening to customers, and for most organizations, that process starts with establishing a customer feedback program.

It’s not easy to win customer loyalty and trust, and it’s even harder for companies to regain trust when they have violated it. In 2019, I expect we will see companies develop a renewed focus on having ongoing and engaging conversations with customers. To foster these conversations, companies need to deliver a feedback experience that meets the customer in a natural way, is quick for the customer to complete, and makes the customer feel heard. Organization need to take action based on insights gained from these conversations to improve the customer experience.

  5. Businesses begin and end with customers, so your pool of customer data should not be ignored. Technology makes it easier to do business, with startups able to establish a lean and effective business model thanks to the volume of handy and affordable tools at their fingertips. But as your business grows, employs staff, and establishes multiple departments, the number of technologies and level of functionality required increases in size and complexity. This can leave many startups staring down the barrel of customer data with little time or knowledge of what to do you with it.

Here are some tips to help you make use of the data you’ve collected to level-up the insights you have into the people that matter most – your customers.

  6. Improve customer loyalty. Reduce customer churn. Maximize revenue. These are the top reasons why so many organisations have employed Enterprise Feedback Management Software(EFM). Interestingly enough, in a highly competitive market where your competitors are just a click away, we’re seeing that some organisations still haven’t embraced EFM. In fact, according to Destination CRM, only 42% of organisations are using one or more technologies to back their VoC programmes. So why haven’t they all jumped on the bandwagon? Could this perhaps be a matter of not knowing which software to employ? Then we’ve got your covered.

  7. he customer feedback loop is the practice of responding to customers meaningfully when they leave feedback. For example, if a customer complains about being overcharged, the company may respond with an apology and issue a refund.

But not all feedback is customer complaints. Customers also leave feedback when they have a particularly memorable experience. Or they may have suggestions for improvements or feature requests.

What many companies don’t realize is that they can turn this feedback into revenue.

Here, we will first discuss why closing the loop is important, then provide three examples of how to grow your business thanks to customer feedback, and finally explain how to implement something like this in real life, using technology!

  8. On one level, retail marketing is all about getting your brand message across to your customers through channels including online, print, brick-and-mortar store signs and social media. Aside from communicating your message, however, it’s also increasingly about the reverse: listening to your customers.

Constant active listening through monitoring customer feedback and conversations will allow you to improve the performance of your business across the board. It also gives you insights into your business that you may have never noticed another way. Based on my experience, here are five takeaways on using customer feedback.

  10. Traditional CRM is typically transactional; social CRM is behavioral. Traditional CRM is company-centric and focused on sales; social CRM is truly customer-centric. Traditional CRM is about implementing the technology; social CRM is focused on applying the strategy.

Traditional CRM architecture is typically designed to manage these four primary areas.
